A Flight, A Snow Storm and a Wedding

This past weekend we went to British Columbia to see Family, Friends and attend a wedding. We had such a good time even if the weather was a bit cold and snowy. We were supposed to return back to Edmonton on Monday but due to the melting snow from the previous days snow storm our flight was cancelled. We finally made it home on Tuesday.

For those of you that are curious Skye did absolutely fantastic on the plane both ways. She slept for part of the time and only cried as we landed which I think was because of her ears. We were really worried she might scream the whole time but luckily that was not the case.

Skye had such a fun time with Omi and Popsi. We were worried that she might make shy but the second we got off the plane she went right to both of them. Omi hadn't seen Skye since she was 3 months old and Popsi hadn't seen her since she was 3 weeks old so as you can imagine she had changed enormously.

We stayed at a fantastic hotel called the Aston Pacific Inn which had a pool and hot tub. Since Skye loves to swim it was perfect for her to play around in. Popsi and Uncle Andrew, Daddy and Mommy spent time with her splashing around.

So Brad and I decided that Skye was spoiled rotten while we were in BC. She was spoiled by her Uncle Andrew, Popsi, Omi, Great Omi, Great Aunt, Great Uncle and Cousins. Let me tell you Skye's, Brad and my presents filled an entire suitcase.

Marina and Ray ( who's wedding we attended) had a fantastic family party on the first night we were there. It was so much fun to sit, eat and visit with the whole family.

So we had this big debate about the cousins and who they were in relation to Skye. So I think we finally figured out they were 1st cousins once removed. Please let me know if you think I am wrong.

So here is the blood line. Nicola, Daniela and Justin's mom is Brads Aunt and therefore Brads first cousins. So what does that make Skye to them?

We are so blessed to have Great Omi in our life. Skye loved spending time with her.

I think Uncle Andrew has a soft spot for Skye. Even if she did cry on occasion :)

Nicola is a nanny so as you can imagine she was fantastic with Skye.

Auntie Nare ( Marina) was so wonderful to her new Great Niece. The second we walked in her door she scooped her up and showed her off to everyone at the party.

Skye has this fascination right now with faces. She will reach up and grab your nose, chin or mouth. Here is Skye getting some one on one time with Omi. I figure Omi must be one of the smartest women when it comes to a baby. She always had a fascinating piece of jewelry on for Skye to look at and play with. Tell me that wasn't good in times of potential meltdowns.

Popsi has decided that he is going to go out and find a book that says " I Love you Grandpa". He figures this is Omi taking unfair advantage of his Granddaughter (read book title)

The Wedding

Marina and Ray were married on Sunday and I must tell you Marina was absolutely beautiful and Ray was very handsome. They looked so happy together it was a privilege to be able to be there celebrating with them.

Marina's kids Nicola, Daniela and Justin stood up for both Marina and Ray. I must say they are one good looking family

The Party

The reception took place at a Golf Course Club House. As you can imagine it was beautiful. The food was delicious, decorations beautiful and the company extraordinary.

Skye had on the cutest dress for the wedding that was bought for her by Omi. When I was pregnant and found out we were having a girl Omi couldn't resist buying it for our little girl. We are so glad that we had the perfect occasion to wear it for.

Bobbi, Sidney, Owen and Skye

Bobbi and I have been very good friends for a few years and it was such fun to see her and her wee ones while we were in BC. Sidney is only 2 weeks older then Skye so it is fun to talk babies with each other. Owen is such a fun little boy. He loved to cuddle Skye and his sister.

Yes Skye is bigger then Sidney - by a whooping 5 pounds
